Based in Plain City, Ohio, Low Carbon Technologies (LCT) is committed to helping agricultural producers contribute to improved sustainability through reduced greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions while earning a premium for low carbon production practices.
Our Beginning
Founder Dr. Colin Beal possesses firsthand insight into how the beef industry upholds agricultural tradition while embracing innovative solutions. For generations, cattlemen and women have enhanced operational efficiencies to safeguard the land for the benefit of future generations. He aspired to quantify these efforts, enabling producers to receive premiums for their contributions. Drawing on his professional background in engineering and expertise in conducting life cycle assessments (LCA), Dr. Beal returned to his ranching roots and founded Low Carbon Beef, LLC in 2018.
Our Company Today
In 2023, Low Carbon Technologies, LLC, the sustainability divison of Select Sires Inc., acquired Low Carbon Beef, LLC. The mission has expanded beyond beef yet remains firmly anchored in the meticulous analysis and application of proven emission-reducing tools. Our certifications identify products that contribute to the well-being of people and the planet.
